Illa Fabulis

Illa Fabulis is a web project documenting the amazing lives, opinions and creative works of inspirational Canadian women. The goal of the project is to feature a variety of women, both well-known and up-and-coming, with an aim to highlight their accomplishments and document their unique stories. Interviews and portraits are housed on illafabulis.com and the Illa Fabulis monthly podcast features selections from the previous month’s interviews mixed with related music, readings and performances.

This month’s episode features highlights from the previous month’s Illa Fabulis interviews:

Selin Murat • One of the founding documentary producers at Parabola Films, Selin talks about how she became interested in filmmaking and about the state of documentary in Canada today. http://illafabulis.com/interviews/selin-murat/

Cat Kidd • Cat is a writer and poet with a number of published works through Conundrum Press. She is also a spoken word performer who has toured her work all over the world. 

Miranda Campbell • After completing her PhD in Education, Miranda published her first book Out of the Basement which looks at youth involved in cultural production and creative entrepreneurship.
